Happy Birthday Sean!

Happy 29th Birthday Sean!  Sean is always complaining about how gross birthday cakes are (so weird, they're clearly delicious).  So this year, I decided to succumb to his wishes and get him the healthiest cake I could think of, angel food cake.

He also doesn't love parties (who are you?), so the most I could convince him to do was invite some of our favorite friends over for "cake" and ice cream.   .

One of the many downfalls of not having a traditional cake and deal with this thing, was the dang birthday candles wouldn't stay in. I had a complete 'wife fail' moment and forgot to get regular birthday candles.  All I could find on such short time were the numbers 2 and 8 from last year, pathetic I know.  Since he was obviously turning 29, the best thing I could think of was to add a blow pop to the end? You know, 28+1???  Let's just say it wasn't my finest moment.

Terrible picture of me (worst fat face), but great of Seanie.  The sacrifices I make for this kid...

On his actual birthday, I convinced Sean to have us go out to dinner.  If I can get out of cooking after a long day of work, I'll do it!  Of course, we had to go somewhere with "healthy options", so we decided on sushi.  Our good friends Gerret and Sarah, and Nikki and Ben joined in on the festivities.

 YUM!

Sean's Birthday Video!

I got Sean a healthy cake covered with fruit, which can be seen in his birthday video.  But for the rest of us, I got a delicious cookie cake.

Sean opening presents...of course without a shirt on.  Clothes are optional on birthdays I suppose...or if you're Sean, everyday.

Haha, I love that face.

Happy 29th Birthday Sean!  Only one more year of your 20's, Grandpa!  I hope you had a great day, I'm so lucky to call you mine. Xoxo.

Louisiana!

Road trip!!! Paige, Aimee, their Mama and I all took a road trip down to Louisiana for Paigey's family bridal shower.  I've been dying to visit 'Paige's favorite place on earth' since the first time she raved about it.  Miss Tammy grew up in Belle River, Louisiana.  There are tons of her family that still live there. It's awesome, they all practically live on the same street from one another.

It was such a fun road trip.  These girls made it a blast.  We snapped a pic once we crossed the line into Louisiana!

Paige and Aimee's Taunt Penny and her amazing cousins Brittany and Beth put on the shower for Paige.  It was amazing, they did such a fabulous job!  I'm surrounded by domestic goddesses, geez.  It must run in their family. :)

Can we talk about how beautiful this southern atmosphere is?!  It looks like it's straight from a magazine!  It was absolutely gorgeous.  No wonder Paige can't wait to get back to Louisiana so much.

And who could blame her with her amazing cousins she has?!  I just love them to pieces.  I'm drawing up the adoption papers as we speak...Oh BB's, you're just the best.

I told you, they're baking and cake connoisseurs!

All the yummy food!

The family starting to arrive...
Thanks Beth for humoring me with all my picture taking shenanigans!

Rings are placed around the house, collect the most and get a prize from the host!

Creations by BB's...

 Present time!

Oh how the tables have turned! Aimee and I were on trash duty this go around, and Brittany and Beth handled the masses and guest book.

 Everyone!

 We just love her...

The guest of honor

The bride-to-be and her adorable "Mrs." cake.

Paigey and her Mama, so sweet.

Seeeeeeeeeesters!

I just love these two sweet sisters!

Of course I didn't get a picture of everyone who came to the shower, but here is a good bunch of them.  Paige has such an amazing Louisiana family, it was so nice to be able to meet so many of them.  I'm so glad I finally got to visit Paige's Louisiana home!  Don't worry, I'll be back!  Thanks for letting me a part of your sweet family for the day (and always).  Love you all!

Valentine's Day 2014

This year Valentine's Day was a success. We had to work (lame), but we made the most of the day of love with our yearly traditions.  We go out so much, it's nice to have a low key night with just the two of us.  We had our annual home cooked salmon, with Martinelli's, mashed potatoes, and asparagus.

I surprised Sean with breakfast in bed and his Valentine's Day gifts.
Everyone who knows Sean well, knows he loves healthy food.  Weird.  But in the spirit of doing things for those we love, I made him a "healthy" breakfast.  Eggs, turkey bacon (gross), fresh tangerines, whole wheat toast with home made jam, and fresh orange juice.  It must be love, because I am NOT a morning person, and I woke up early before work to make this breakfast in bed for him.

Happy Valentine's Day Seanie!

After breakfast in bed and presents, I got in the shower and headed off to work.  Womp, womp.  I found this gem in my car.  Tender.

Earlier we were talking about how it's our 7th Valentine's Day together, and how different things are at this point in our lives.  It's crazy to think about our first Valentine's Day together when we were engaged.  I was 21, and Sean was 22...we were just babies.  And they said we were too young...
Sean with his broken carnation jokes.  What can I say?  It's tradition.

He stopped joking when he gave me this bag after dinner.  He went to Jared!!!  I was completely shocked, he knows I love a good surprise.  Besides my engagement ring, I don't think Sean has stepped foot in a fine jewelery store. Love him.

He gave me a beautiful infinity diamond necklace.  For such a "unromantic guy", he can be pretty romantic...He claims he has no feelings, but I know they're in there somewhere. :)

I know a lot of people think it's cheesy and a stupid Hallmark holiday, and maybe it is.  But, it's nice to have an extra "official day" to have another excuse to spoil the ones we love.  Happy Valentine's Day Sean! Xoxo.
